Fenugreek seeds can be sprouted to use in salad, or roasted and ground to use in curry mixes. The Fenugreek seeds are also used in pickles, bread, stews and fried foods.

Fenugreeks nourishing seeds are used to treat loss of appetite in convalescence and anorexia. Its demulcent action has a soothing effect on gastric ulcers and inflammation. It has the ability to lower fever.

Fenugreek is used for late onset diabetes, high cholesterol, to induce childbirth and increase breast milk production.

Externally a paste can be applied to boils, ulcers, eczema and other skin inflammation.

Other Uses

Extracts of the Fenugreek seeds are used in synthetic maple syrup, vanilla, caramel and butterscotch flavours.

Actions

Bitter, demulcent, expectorant, uterine stimulant, febrifuge, anti-diabetic.
