Join us for this exploration into the art of fermentation and learn how to confidently create probiotic foods and drinks in your own home.
In this workshop you will see how easy it is to incorporate delicious, nutritious ferments into your daily life. You will get to taste a variety of sweet and savoury ferments and take home cultures and thorough instructions to get you started on your fermenting journey. We will cover the fermented beverages kombucha and kefir plus an assortment of vegetable ferments, including pesto, salsa and sauerkraut, with a special focus on including herbs.
Holly Cottingham is from New View Farm, a small mixed organic farm near Stanthorpe.Her passions lie in growing good food, relearning traditional crafts and skills, making things from scratch and living a non toxic life. Holly takes our soap making classes here at the Herb farm and is very excited to show you the world of fermenting.
Saturday 1st July 2017. The class runs for 4 hours from 9.30am to 1.30pm, with morning tea at 11-11.30am. Try to arrive 10minutes prior to have a cuppa and settle in.
$85 this includes notes on fermenting, cultures to get you started and a morning tea of Herbal delights.
