“Natural Soap Making with Holly Smith”
Come and learn how to make natural, nourishing cold processed soap! Making your own soap from scratch is fun and rewarding and you can create gentle products that nourish your skin and are also great to give as gifts.
This course will cover the history of soapmaking, the basic cold process soap making techniques, equipment, safety and how to customise your soap with natural additions like essential oils and botanicals. Holly will run you through the process of making a basic unscented soap and a fragrant soap with natural botanicals. You will leave the workshop with the skills needed to make your own soap at home, recipes and step-by-step instructions. There will also be an opportunity to purchase soapmaking supplies and soaps made by Holly at a special discounted price.
Holly Cottingham from New View Farm, a small mixed organic farm near Stanthorpe, has been crafting natural soap for the last 7 years. Her passions lie in growing good food, relearning traditional crafts and skills, making things from scratch and living a non toxic life. Holly has been making beautiful natural handmade soaps for a number of years now and is eager to share her soap making experience.
Saturday 25th March 2017. The class runs for 4 hours from 9.30am to 1.30pm, with morning tea at 11-11.30am. Try to arrive 10minutes prior to have a cuppa and settle in.
$85 this includes notes on making soaps, 2 bars of already cured soaps made by Holly as well as morning tea of herbal delights.
