BASKET MAKING CLASS
Make Your Own Beautiful Basket
Lean how to make Stitched Baskets using plant fibres, recycled materials, wool thread and other ephemera, stitch a sculptural basket form. You may wish to include fabric, shells, seedpods, recycled materials and items of significance to include in your Basket.
Scented herbs and plants will also be included to create a multi-dimensional sensory experience!
Therese Flynn-Clarke works in a number of mediums including basketry, sculptural fibre art, eco-dyeing, ceramics and mixed media, which all reflect her deep connection to the natural world from where her inspiration is drawn. Therese uses her acquired skills and expertise applying this knowledge to a wide range of materials exploring and ‘pushing the boundaries’ in her conceptualisation and application. She has exhibited widely within Queensland and Interstate and is a prolific and committed artist involved in her own art practise, as a tutor and teacher, and a respected member and participant of many community arts groups and events.
Saturday 27th October, 2018 The class runs for 4 hours from 9.30am to 1.30 pm, with morning tea at 11-11.30am. Try to arrive 10minutes prior to have a cuppa and settle in.
$117 this includes all materials, information on making baskets, the basket that you make to take home as well as a morning tea of herbal delights.
