Comfrey ointment is useful in any kind of inflammatory swelling and reduces inflammation associated with sprains and broken bones.
This Comfrey Cream is made at Mudbrick Herb Cottage from comfrey plants grown organically on the property.
Comfrey has many uses medicinally, the roots and leaves contain Allantoin, a substance that promotes cell renewal making it useful for wound healing, tissue regeneration, new collagen, and bone. It also contains Rosmarinic acid which along with the tannins is responsible for the anti-inflammatory action.
This Bumps & Bruises Comfrey ointment can be used to help heal:
- burns
- bruises
- ulcers
- dry skin
- scars
- inflamed skin
- sprains
- broken bones
- tendon damage
- wounds
Caution - when using comfrey on deep wounds and if the wound needs stitches as the comfrey knits the skin too fast and could trap an infection within the wound.
Always use an anti-septic herb such as echinacea, calendula or tea tree along with comfrey to disinfect the area to be treated.
