About Us

Mudbrick Cottage Herb Farm is a Family owned business at Mudgeeraba in the Gold coast Hinterland. Owners Michael and Sandra have been growing herbs for sale since the late 80’s selling at the local markets on the Gold Coast. They opened their herb nursery to the public in 1994 and have been increasing their range of herbs to well over 300 varieties.

Sandra has had a passion for herbs for more than 30 years, beginning with a cup of chamomile tea back in the 70’s. “I remember the smell and the way it soothed me”.

A love of cooking made growing herbs a necessity, so they could be picked fresh from the garden to add to meals. Her interest in using herbs medicinally came along with the arrival of their children, with four boys there were many opportunities to try out various herbal remedies. Sandra is a qualified Naturopath and Herbalist and is accredited with ANTA.

Sandra and Michael

Michael worked in a large wholesale nursery for 8 years, where he developed the skills to produce quality plants for the nursery industry. This with his love of gardening and collecting different plants has helped create a specialist Herb nursery with a large range of healthy herbs from the common varieties through to the rare and unusual.

We grow our herbs with organic principles using certified organic potting mixes and fertilizers. And our plants are free of chemical pesticides and herbicides.

We pride ourselves on producing quality well grown plants.
