We Believe in the Power of Nature's Gifts
Our Story
Imagine a world without any herbs, spices or flowers...
There would be no tasty food, no soothing teas, and no fragrance... Life would be a bland and dull existence... And our daily routines wouldn’t be the same.
Now try to remember the taste of a hearty, wholesome meal or go back to the time you sniffed a bottle of heavenly perfume. Your senses were engulfed in a wave of delight, right?
That's the power of nature's gifts.
Moments like these reveal how deeply intertwined humans are with nature, no matter where we live or what we do. Yes, we know that your life is busy and you juggle so much stuff daily... Which is why you can’t head out in search of organic herbs, spices or essential oils all the time... But we also know that you desire a healthier, sustainable lifestyle that’s as close to nature as possible.
And this is where we come in.
Meet The Family Behind Mudbrick Herb Cottage
Sandra
It all began with a cup of chamomile tea back in the ’70s. Sandra still remembers her first sip... From the sweet smell of the dried chamomile flowers to the warm, soothing feeling inside.
That simple cup of tea ignited a lifelong passion for studying and growing herbs. With the arrival of her children, Sandra had plenty of opportunities to use herbs every day.
Together with her husband Michael, they built Mudbrick Herb Cottage into a flourishing business. From a small garden to a thriving nursery, they turned their love for nature into a business. And by carving a place in the hearts and homes of their customers, the Mudbrick family continues to flourish.
Michael
'The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not the body, but the soul.'
- Alfred Austin
Working in a wholesale nursery for 8 years taught Michael a lot about growing healthy plants. With Sandra's passion for herbs, they started a nursery and sold their plants in the local farmer's market.
Within a few years, this nursery grew and you can now find 400+ varieties of plants... some of which are rare and hard to come across in Australia.
Bart
For years, Mudbrick Cottage products were only available in the local farmer’s market. After learning how the internet could help them reach more people, Bart convinced his parents to start selling online.
Today, what used to be a small home business has grown into a thriving online store. Bart is constantly working on different systems and strategies to grow the brand's presence so that it becomes a household name in Australia.
