Not to be confused with the banana-like cooking plantain, this is the humble medicinal herb that grows in lawns and meadows worldwide. Plantain leaf has been valued in traditional herbalism for centuries as a versatile, gentle remedy.

Plantain is one of the most common "weeds" found in Australian backyards, yet it has been used medicinally for thousands of years. In folk herbalism, it was considered one of the most important wound herbs and was known as "the mother of herbs" in Anglo-Saxon tradition.

Plantain leaf is generally considered safe for dogs and cats. It has traditionally been used in animal herbalism for minor skin irritations and digestive support.

Generally well tolerated. May cause allergic reactions in people sensitive to Plantaginaceae plants. This information is not a substitute for medical advice. Consult a healthcare provider before use, especially if pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication.
