Dried sage from Salvia officinalis is one of the most versatile herbs in the kitchen and the herbal tea cupboard. This certified organic sage leaf has a warm, earthy, slightly peppery flavour that works as well in a roast dinner as it does steeped as a soothing sage tea. Rich in rosmarinic acid and other polyphenols, sage has been traditionally used for centuries to support digestive comfort and mental clarity.

Tea: Steep 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried sage leaves in a cup of boiling water for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain and enjoy. Blends well with Lemon Balm for a calming, cognitive-support blend, or with Chamomile for an evening tea.
Gargle: Brew a strong sage tea (2 teaspoons per cup, steeped 15 minutes). Cool to a comfortable temperature and gargle for 30 seconds. Do not swallow.
Cooking: Crumble dried sage leaves directly into stuffing, pasta sauces, roast vegetables, or meat dishes. Use about half the quantity of fresh sage. Pairs beautifully with Thyme and rosemary in classic herb blends.

This is culinary sage (Salvia officinalis), not white sage (Salvia apiana) used in smudging ceremonies. While both are in the Salvia genus, they are different species with different traditional uses.
