Soursop leaf tea (Annona muricata), also known as graviola tea, is a traditional tropical herb that has been brewed as a household tea across the Caribbean, South America, and Southeast Asia for generations. This certified organic soursop leaf tea is the whole dried leaf form, ready to steep into a mild, slightly grassy infusion. Soursop leaves are traditionally used to support restful sleep, digestive comfort, and general wellbeing.
Key Benefits
- Calming and relaxing: Traditionally used in Caribbean and South American folk traditions to promote relaxation and support restful sleep. A popular evening tea in tropical regions.
- Digestive comfort: Traditionally used in tropical herbal medicine to support healthy digestive function and ease occasional stomach discomfort.
- Whole leaf form: Dried whole leaves for a traditional brewing experience. Simply tear or crumble the leaves and steep in boiling water for a mild, pleasant tea.
- Certified organic: Sourced from certified organic soursop leaves, free from synthetic pesticides.
Tea: Tear or crumble 2 to 3 dried soursop leaves into a cup or teapot. Pour over freshly boiled water and steep for 10 to 15 minutes. Strain and drink. The flavour is mild and slightly grassy. Add honey or lemon to taste.
Calming blend: Combine soursop leaves with Chamomile and Passionflower for a soothing evening tea blend.
Iced tea: Brew a strong pot of soursop leaf tea, allow to cool, and serve over ice with a squeeze of lime for a refreshing tropical drink. Add Lemon Balm for extra citrus notes.
Soursop is best known as a tropical fruit, prized for its sweet, tangy flesh across the Caribbean, Central America, and Southeast Asia. The leaves have their own distinct tradition in herbal use, separate from the fruit, and soursop leaf tea is a common household drink in many tropical countries.
Herb Cottage also sells Graviola Leaf Powder, which is the same plant in powdered form. Choose whole leaves for traditional tea brewing, or the powder for smoothies and quick preparations.
