Linden flower (Tilia sp.), also known as lime flower or lime blossom, produces one of the most beautiful and soothing herbal teas you can brew. This certified organic linden flower tea has a naturally honey-sweet, floral aroma and a gentle, calming flavour. Traditionally used across the world to promote relaxation and support restful sleep, it is a wonderful evening tea and a staple of the herbal cupboard.

Key Benefits

  • Calming and relaxing: Traditionally used to help ease mild nervous tension and promote a sense of calm. One of the most popular relaxation herbs in the herbal tradition.
  • Sleep support: Traditionally used as a bedtime tea to support restful, undisturbed sleep. The honey-sweet flavour makes it easy to drink without sweetener.
  • Naturally honey-sweet: Linden flower has a distinctive honey-like sweetness and floral aroma, making it one of the most pleasant-tasting herbal teas available.
  • Certified organic: Grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, providing a clean, whole-herb tea for daily enjoyment.
  • Gentle and mild: Suitable for regular use as part of an evening wind-down routine. Gentle enough to enjoy daily.

Linden tea: Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried linden flower to a cup of boiling water. Cover and steep for 10 to 15 minutes (covering helps retain the aromatic oils). Strain and enjoy. Drink 1 to 3 cups daily, especially in the evening.

Blending: Beautiful paired with Chamomile for a classic bedtime blend, or with Passionflower for deeper relaxation. Also combines well with Hawthorn Leaf and Flower for a traditional cardiovascular-support tea.

Linden trees are deeply significant in mythology and folklore. In Norse tradition, the linden was sacred to the goddess of love, Freya. In the famous Nibelungenlied, the hero Siegfried became invulnerable after bathing in dragon's blood, except for a spot on his back where a linden leaf had fallen.

Despite the common name "lime flower," this herb has no relation to citrus limes. The name comes from the Old English word "linde." Linden trees can live for over 1,000 years and are important honey trees for bees.

Not recommended for long-term daily use without breaks. May interact with lithium medications. This information is not a substitute for medical advice. Consult a healthcare provider before use, especially if pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication.
