Sunny Coast HerbFest

Every June, the Sunshine Coast comes alive with the smell of fresh herbs, the buzz of passionate growers, and the kind of energy you only get when a community gathers around something they genuinely love. That is HerbFest.

Organised by Cat Green through Everyday Empowered, HerbFest is the Sunshine Coast's biggest annual herbal medicine festival. Now in its sixth year, the event has grown from a small gathering into a proper celebration of herbal knowledge, with 50+ market stalls, hands-on workshops, expert speakers, live music, and a kids' corner.

What happens at HerbFest

Held at Coolum State School on the Sunshine Coast, HerbFest is a full day of learning and connecting. You will find handcrafted herbal remedies, skincare, teas, and seedlings from local makers. There are practical demonstrations on everything from making calendula ointment to foraging wild weeds. And the speaker lineup brings together herbalists from across Australia to share their knowledge on topics like kitchen medicine, growing medicinal herbs, and seasonal wellbeing.

It is the kind of event where you turn up for an hour and stay for the whole day. Entry is $20, kids under 14 are free, and there is plenty of food and coffee to keep you going.
