Botanical Name: Arnica chamissonis
Arnica chamissonis is from the United States, it is very similar to Arnica Montana which is found in Europe in both its appearance and medicinal properties. It is a perennial and will grow up to 60cm in height. It has green narrow leaves and yellow daisy like flowers in summer.
Arnica used as a wash, cream or ointment can be used to reduce swelling and bruising associated with a wide variety of injuries. Do not use on broken skin.
Made into a homoepathic preparation arnica can be used when there has been some trauma to the body. It can be used to reduce pain and swelling after an accident, or pre and post-surgery to reduce, pain, swelling and bruising.
Growing Conditions
Grow arnica in well – drained rich soil in a full sun to part shade position. Divide plants in spring.
