Meadowsweet tea (Filipendula ulmaria) is a gentle, aromatic herb with a sweet, honey-like scent and a long history in European herbal medicine. This certified organic meadowsweet is traditionally used to support digestive comfort and joint health, and is famously the plant that gave aspirin its name. Unlike aspirin, meadowsweet tea is traditionally considered gentle on the stomach, making it a popular choice for those seeking natural digestive and joint support.

Tea infusion: Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried meadowsweet to a cup of freshly boiled water. Cover and steep for 10 to 15 minutes. Do not boil the herb directly, as excessive heat can damage the delicate salicylate compounds. Strain and drink up to 3 cups daily.
Digestive blend: Combine meadowsweet with Chamomile and Peppermint for a soothing after-meal tea.
Joint blend: Pair with Birch Leaf and Nettle Leaf for a traditional joint comfort tea. Add Ginger Root for warmth.
Meadowsweet was one of the three most sacred herbs of the Druids, alongside watermint and vervain. Queen Elizabeth I reportedly favoured meadowsweet as a strewing herb for her chambers, preferring its sweet scent above all other plants.
The original name "meadwort" suggests the plant was used to flavour mead (honey wine). Its sweet, honey-like aroma made it a popular addition to beverages long before the invention of aspirin.
