Red clover tea (Trifolium pratense) is a dried flower traditionally valued for its gentle support of skin health and women's wellness. Rich in naturally occurring isoflavones, red clover has a long history of use in Western herbalism as a nourishing, mineral-rich infusion with a mild, slightly sweet flavour that blends well on its own or with other herbs.

Key Benefits

  • Skin support: Traditionally used as a gentle internal support for clear, healthy skin. One of the most valued red clover tea benefits.
  • Women's wellness: Traditionally used to support women through life transitions, including menopause. Contains naturally occurring isoflavones.
  • Mineral rich: A nourishing herb rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium and other trace minerals, making it ideal as a daily nutritive infusion.
  • Gentle flavour: Mild, slightly sweet taste that works well as a standalone tea or blended with other herbs for a more complex infusion.
  • Versatile use: Suitable as a simple tea, nourishing long infusion, or blending ingredient in wellness tea mixes.

Tea: Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried red clover flowers to a cup of boiling water. Steep for 10 to 15 minutes, covered. Strain and drink up to 3 cups daily.

Nourishing infusion: Steep 15 to 30 grams in 1 litre of hot water for 4 to 8 hours (or overnight). Strain and sip throughout the day as a mineral-rich tonic.

Blending: Combine with Nettle Leaf for a mineral-rich daily infusion, with Raspberry Leaf for women's wellness support, or with Calendula for skin-focused blends.

Red clover is a member of the legume family and produces the distinctive pink-purple flower heads that have been a staple of herbal traditions for centuries. In folk herbalism, it was known as a "blood cleanser" and was commonly included in spring tonics.

The dried flowers make a beautiful addition to herbal tea blends and potpourri. Store in an airtight container away from heat and light to preserve colour and potency.

Not suitable during pregnancy or with oestrogen-sensitive conditions. Avoid with blood-thinning medications. This information is not a substitute for medical advice. Consult a healthcare provider before use, especially if pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication.
