Brahmi tea (Bacopa monnieri) is one of the most revered herbs in Ayurvedic tradition, classified as a Medhya Rasayana, a rejuvenating herb specifically for the intellect. This certified organic brahmi leaf produces a mild, slightly bitter infusion that has been used for thousands of years to support memory, learning, and mental clarity. Known as the "herb of grace" in English, brahmi holds a unique place among just four herbs granted the highest cognitive classification in the ancient Charaka Samhita.

Brahmi tea: Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried brahmi to a cup of freshly boiled water. Steep for 5 to 10 minutes, then strain. The flavour is mild and slightly bitter. Honey can be added to taste.
Blending ideas: For a traditional memory support blend, combine with Gotu Kola, the other great Medhya Rasayana herb. Also pairs well with Tulsi (Holy Basil) for a calming Ayurvedic blend, or with Lemon Balm for a lighter, more refreshing cup.
Tip: Traditional Ayurvedic practice recommends consistent daily use over several weeks for best results, as brahmi benefits are considered cumulative.
The name "Brahmi" derives from Brahma, the Hindu creator deity, reflecting how highly this herb was regarded for intellectual development. Vedic scholars reportedly used brahmi to help memorise lengthy sacred texts. Note: "Brahmi" is sometimes also used for Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica), which is a completely different plant. Brahmi is not classified as toxic to dogs or cats. It is sometimes included in veterinary supplements for cognitive support in senior pets, though veterinary guidance should always be sought first.
