These dried jasmine buds from Jasminum officinale offer one of the most beautifully fragrant herbal teas you can brew. Unlike jasmine-scented green teas, this is a pure jasmine bud tea with no added caffeine. The tightly closed buds hold their aromatic oils well, releasing a sweet, heady floral flavour when steeped. Traditionally valued for calming the mind and easing nervous tension.

Key Benefits

  • Naturally caffeine-free: Pure jasmine buds contain no caffeine, making them perfect for evening drinking or for those avoiding stimulants.
  • Calming and aromatic: Traditionally used to help ease mild nervous tension and promote relaxation. The fragrance alone has been studied for its calming effects.
  • Versatile ingredient: Use in teas, baking, cocktails, mocktails, milk infusions, and homemade bath products. The buds also work well in potpourri and sachets.
  • Beautiful presentation: The small, tightly closed buds open gently in hot water, making a visually appealing cup of tea.
  • Pairs well with other florals: Blends beautifully with rose, lavender, and chamomile for custom floral tea blends.

Tea: Place 1 to 2 teaspoons of jasmine buds in a cup and pour over water at about 80 to 85 degrees (not boiling, as high heat can damage the delicate flavour). Steep for 3 to 5 minutes. The buds can be re-steeped 2 to 3 times.

Blending: Creates a lovely floral blend with Chamomile for a calming bedtime tea, or with Lavender for a fragrant relaxation blend. Also try mixing with Organic Red Rose Petals for a beautiful all-floral tea.

Culinary and craft: Infuse into milk or cream for jasmine panna cotta, ice cream, or lattes. Add to sugar for jasmine-scented sugar. Use whole buds as a garnish on cakes and desserts.

The name "jasmine" comes from the ancient word "yasmin," meaning "gift from God." In many cultures, jasmine flowers are used in wedding garlands and ceremonies as a symbol of love and good fortune.

It takes roughly one million jasmine flowers to produce a single kilogram of jasmine absolute for the perfume industry, making it one of the most precious floral ingredients in the world.
