This Australian-grown marshmallow leaf (Althea officinalis) is certified organic and naturally soothing, the leafy counterpart to the better-known root. Marshmallow leaf makes a soft, gentle herbal tea and has been valued in European herbalism for centuries.

Marshmallow leaf tea: Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried marshmallow leaf to a cup of boiling water, cover and steep for 5 to 10 minutes, then strain. For a stronger, silkier cup, use a cold overnight infusion instead.
Blending: The leaf makes a softer, lighter cup than Marshmallow Root. It blends gently with Chamomile and Licorice Root, and sits alongside our other Australian-grown dried herbs. Take it at least an hour away from any medicines.
The soft sweet we call a marshmallow was originally made from this plant, whipped from the mucilage-rich sap of its root with sugar and egg white.
The genus name Althea comes from the Greek word for "to make whole", a reminder of how long this gentle plant has been valued in European herbalism.
