Skullcap tea (Scutellaria lateriflora) is a certified organic herb traditionally used to calm the nervous system and support restful sleep. Well loved for its ability to ease tension without dulling the mind, skullcap has been a staple of traditional herbalism for centuries. The dried leaf produces a mild, slightly bitter infusion that many people enjoy as part of their evening routine.

The name "skullcap" comes from the shape of the flower, which has a small cap-like protrusion on the upper lip that resembles a medieval helmet or skull cap. There are over 300 species of skullcap worldwide, but Scutellaria lateriflora is the species most commonly used in Western herbalism.
Skullcap is generally considered safe for dogs and cats in small amounts. However, consult a veterinarian before giving herbs to animals.
