Botanical Name: Ocimum sp.

This perennial basil is believed to be a cross of Ocimum basilicum and Ocimum kilimanscharicum.

Hardy bushy basil loved by bees. Can be used much the same as sweet basil but you need less as it has a very strong flavour. A companion plant to tomatoes and other vegetables. Also great to grow near your fruit trees.

Growing Conditions

The leaves of perennial basil can be used fresh or dried for a wide variety of culinary purposes, such as in pesto, salads, or sauces. Perennial basil adds beauty to any garden and its wonderful aroma is sure to bring joy and comfort to your outdoor spaces.

Hello, the basil plants arrived healthy and happy, so much so that I kept them in their original containers for two weeks so that I could plant them by the moon, (two days after the new moon). Rated 5 out of 5. Perennial Basil. Living in a small seaside village can make it difficult to obtain some less common plants. I was able to order my perennial basil from Mudbrick Cottage and was very happy with the whole process. The basil arrived by post in a very short time in excellent condition. Instructions were included on how best to treat the plant once it arrived which was very helpful. The video was most helpful in confirming what I would have done with the plants. The basil is happily growing in its spot. We are very happy with the purchase so far.
