This Australian-grown goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea) is certified organic flowering tops, ready for a gentle goldenrod tea. A mainstay of traditional European herbalism, goldenrod has been valued for generations as a supportive everyday tisane with a mild, faintly aromatic flavour.

Goldenrod tea: Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried goldenrod to a cup of boiling water, cover and steep for 5 to 10 minutes, then strain. Traditionally taken with a good glass of water alongside.

The botanical name Solidago comes from the Latin for "to make whole", a nod to goldenrod's old folk name, woundwort.
Goldenrod is often blamed for hay fever, but it is insect-pollinated with heavy, sticky pollen. The real culprit is usually ragweed, which flowers at the same time.
