Sandra has been designing herbal tea recipes at Mudbrick Herb Cottage for over 20 years. Every blend is mixed by hand in small batches using dried herbs sourced for potency and freshness. The result is a range of purpose-driven herbal teas that taste good and do what they are meant to do.

If you are after a tea to help you wind down, our Sleep Time Tea is one of our most popular blends. It combines calming herbs traditionally used to support restful sleep. We also carry Jilungin Sleep Tea, made from a wildcrafted Australian native leaf that has been used by Indigenous communities for generations. You can browse our full herbs for sleep collection for more options.

For immune support, try our Cold and Flu Tea or URTea, both traditionally used to support upper respiratory health. Our Energy Tea is a caffeine-free pick-me-up made with adaptogens and invigorating herbs, while Essiac Tea follows the well-known four-herb formula.

We have a strong range for women's health too. PMS Tea, Menopause Tea and Lactation Tea are all blended with herbs traditionally used to support each stage. For men, our Men's Health Tea combines herbs traditionally used to support vitality and wellbeing.

For everyday sipping, Garden Party Tea is a light, fragrant blend that works beautifully iced or hot. And if you are looking for a coffee alternative, OCODACHI is an organic herb coffee blend with a rich, roasted flavour and no caffeine.

All our herbal teas are loose leaf and caffeine free. If you would like to grow your own tea herbs, browse our tea herb plants collection, or explore our full dried herbs range to create your own blends at home.

    Frequently asked questions

Are all your herbal teas caffeine free?

Yes, all of our herbal tea blends are naturally caffeine free. They are made from dried herbs, flowers and roots rather than tea leaves (Camellia sinensis), so they contain no caffeine at all. This makes them a great choice for evening drinking or for anyone looking to reduce their caffeine intake.

What is the best herbal tea to drink every day?

It depends on what you are looking for. Garden Party Tea is a lovely everyday sipper with a light, pleasant flavour. If you want something with more purpose, Energy Tea is a good morning option, while Sleep Time Tea is ideal in the evening. Many of our customers rotate between a few blends depending on the time of day.

    Are your herbal teas organic?

Most of our blends use certified organic herbs. Some blends include wildcrafted ingredients, which are harvested from wild-growing plants rather than cultivated crops. Each product page lists the ingredients and their certification status. We also carry a range of Australian grown organic dried herbs if you prefer to blend your own.

What herbal tea is good for sleep?

Our Sleep Time Tea is our most popular blend for sleep. It contains herbs traditionally used to promote calmness and restful sleep. We also carry Jilungin Sleep Tea, made from a wildcrafted Australian native leaf. Browse our full herbs for sleep collection for more options including individual dried herbs.

How do you brew loose leaf herbal tea?

Use about one teaspoon of loose leaf tea per cup. Pour freshly boiled water over the herbs and steep for 5 to 10 minutes, or longer for a stronger brew. Herbal teas are forgiving and will not go bitter like black or green tea, so you can leave them to steep as long as you like. Use a tea strainer, infuser or teapot with a built-in filter.

Do you ship herbal teas across Australia?

Yes, we ship herbal teas right across Australia, including Western Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania. Dried herb products have no quarantine restrictions. Regular Post is $10.95 and Express Post is $12.95. See our shipping information page for full details.
